so the jet and i have been having some really interesting conversations today running the gamut from technological determinism to right wing fundamentalism. we found ourselves amongst a rather large gathering of 'conservative' christians tonight...drinking brew and singing songs...very interesting. trying to formulate some sort of interpretation of all this...especially in my relation to this group of 'aliens'. i'm totally willing to go out on a limb, saw through the branch 3/4's of the way and then jump off a cliff with no parachute, maybe its the beer, not sure...but anyway...despite a certain (expected?)similarity of beliefs in one realm, i feel absolutely no connection at all, some of these individuals might as well live on the bottom of the sea and eat rocks for breakfast, for all i know...like apples and oranges or atomic weapons and bows and arrows. wtf you might say? well thats exactly what i'm saying! granted, i didn't exactly interact with said individuals on a meaningful level, the whole bow and arrow thing threw me off...but i overheard and had a few 'insider' type things thrown my way. i threw them back! damnit! i don't want in on your clique, your holy huddle, whatever it is...leave me the (censored) alone! (a side note, hurah for self censorship, if you've had a conversation with me lately you probably wished i would have done the same...my b...i will try harder next time). where was i going with all this...? what is the deal!! i really don't get it...Jesus is rad, why do we not talk of him more? why does everything have to do with some weirdo escapist mode? why does everything have to be judgement and superficial meaningless self holiness? did not Jesus love and serve and love and serve more?? did he not call his followers to do the same?? i don't understand Christians. maybe in a sense i do, like in the same way that i understand that the war in Iraq was about weapons of mass destruction. that doesn't MEAN anything to me. it doesn't change anything...it doesn't entail the truth. so what. ARG.
