brain leak

feels weird not to be blogging much in the way of text lately. not that i don't have anything to say, i have too much, but recently images seem to be speaking louder than words. end of the semester is getting stressful, working on several interesting projects/papers though. trying to flesh out what i want to say for media theory...20 pages isn't a lot but right now feels pretty daunting. i'm tempted to take a side on the technological determinism issue, primarily i gues i'm tempted to make a moral judgement on the direction that technology pushes us, but i kind of feel to say one thing or the other would be too exclusive and ignore many things. feel like i'm constantly trying to weigh out the 'pluses and minuses' arbitrarily, just like we philosophized about hedons and dolars determining the rightness or wrongness of an action in many a philosophy class. one of the books i'm reading, Imagology, is more or less convincing in its thesis of media philosophy, although i find much of the postmodern approaches to truth to be dissagreable. the critique of american philosophy in that book resonates with me quite well, i don't necessarily regret my background but its nice to see that at least some european philosophers consider american analytic philosophy to be irrelevant and dominated by a bunch of pompous asses. but, this has little to do with my paper i guess. ah well, all good.
