hit the park at 8 this am for a few runs in the bowl but got scared away by the cold. now i'm sitting here enjoying the new Post 22 dot com with a glass of wine. I should be out there shralping it up creating new spots...what the heck.

I quit

Well. Shit. Messing around on Emusic tonight I decided to download some tunes I lost last year when my HD crashed. Ran across the DP Gunfight...made me think of Dead Sea Cafe and some photos a few years back, well actually almost 4 years back. Went through this blog for a couple of pages and found the now dead link. What happened to the last 4 years?! Holy sardines...

Bold Coast

An insane journey north with our great friends Nate and Maegan...totalling 54 hrs...20 in the car! Some amazing sites, the best dogs on the planet...getting covered in human feces, boiled snails, wild blueberries, beer, beer can stoves that actually work and a poo ton of humidity...all around quite the weekend!

well its october, the frost was thick monday morning, i'm going between freaking cold and sweating hot on the job. must be fall in new england. Lexie has developed some sort of weird kink in her body when she wags...we're going to get it checked out by the vet next week. sleep, tea, coffee, work, food, work, beer, sleep repeat. thank God for the Pogues, Lenny, and faithful companions.

back again

Back to Easthampton from quite the trip to cr. beautiful place, wonderful people, driving was probably the most continued insanity of my life, nothing like a late night trip from Puntarenas to Alajuela on the PanAmerican in the dark and fog and rain. 2 days of downtime 5 of travel. photos in a week or so if i have the time and when jess returns with the camera. until then check out her blog: Jet Fuel She is continuing on for another week (in one place thankfully!) and having her first night with the turtles as I type this! Sweet ass.

I'm constantly worrying about money, work and the economy lately. when did that happen? 5 years on and we're still involved in two wars we can't win. And we have 4000 dead troops who've "laid the foundations for freedom" blah blah blah for what? So that this war doesn't have to be fought on American soil? Great, we can continue to ruin the lives of those in distant lands to maintain our gluttonous lifestyles here. I'm torn between joy that we here in America are waking up to the fact that our neo-fascist empire of greed, in the name of "democracy", is nearing its end and panic at the prospects for our future. I think Orwell had it right when he said in 1938 (of the Spanish Civil war) that "It is nonsense to talk of opposing Fascism by bourgeois "democracy". Bourgeois "democracy" is only another name for capitalism, and so is Fascism; to fight against Fascism on behalf of "democracy" is to fight against one form of capitalism on behalf of a second which is liable to turn into the first at any moment." I suppose it is the realization of all generations but I still can't help but feel that the world I've naively treasured for so long and dreamed of raising kids in is dead...

its been a crazy few weeks

moving, flying, working, running out of work, and the full gamut of emotions that come with the twists of life. had the chance to help josh and carrie some more this weekend getting into their new place. The Sonoma/Napa valley area is one of the most beautiful places I've been, even in the middle of winter. I'll try to get up more pictures later on, I took 400+ over the last 3 days so I've a bit of sorting out to do. Back home now, down to the crunch of the house and finding work. Trying to let some of the Norcal chill vibe carry over. Miss you guys!

we've been slowly getting back into the swing of things. some sheet rock and plywood went up over the weekend. rad. hey alexia i didn't call you where is my nagging text message you promised??! ;) found some pictures on the camera of when we picked up the pooch from Bernie. speaking of which go donate some cash money to A Place to Bark raffle. A Place to Bark is a rescue run by artist Bernie Berlin. She came all the way up to Massachusetts and brought us Lexi. Need I say more? In other news I'm blogging again which means I'm procrastinating. Pogues March 15th NYC!

the break in cold weather certainly calls for rejoicing.
a while back colleen gave me an atom and his package album which i enjoyed but lost in the shuffle of music mayhem in my head until today. now i'm enjoying it thoroughly again.
our house is housetastic. maybe we'll be done with the upstairs by soon.
Lexi (correction on previous spelling) is rad. she impresses me daily with how quickly she learns.
i miss skateboarding. going on 3+ months and 10lbs since I set foot on my skate.
playing music with rad people again is super fun. maybe i'll post some samples someday.
i'm gonna miss my friends when they move to california in three weeks.
pogues and terrynelsons march 15 new york city. heck yes. i'm not missing this one for any damn snow storm.

Whats New

Hey blogging is fun. I forgot. Where did the summer go?? I'm kind of tripping on the idea that I don't have to go back to school in the fall. WOW. First time in 16 years. That is freaking insane. The new Far From Finished record is also WOW. Totally amazing. Yeah. We close on the house on Tuesday now, I'm trying to hold it together and not panic regarding the work to be done. That is going well thus far, just really need to get in there and the delay is annoying. What else? New bearings make the bowl in Noho super super fast. Good times.

Holy Shiztalle

Damn. It has been 2 months since I've posted. Wow. Those two months have flown by SOO fast. I graducated grad school, hell yeah, working like a fiend, sweet, and Jess and I are buying a house! We close a week from tomorrow. July 28, 5pm till we stop party at our new place for my birthday!! Because I'm paranoid I won't list the address here but send me an email if you want to come. You all know you do. It'll be a grand time. Don't be lame! Place needs a fair amount of work, but, hopefully we'll be able to pull it off with a little help from our friends. Friends are rad.
Brett and Tappy and I have been framing in New York off and on for a couple of weeks. Grand time, Mr. Safety Takes A Holiday at points for sure. Hopefully they'll be done with the billion pound oak trusses soon so we can go back and put the roof on. Oi Vey!

the 411

rocking out to quiet riot helps a bit, trying to focus and finish some work for the night but its been a while since I've blogged... Only a week and a half left of grad school (or "hell" as I like to think of it from time to time...but only sometimes). In other news, I have determined that my body really can no longer handle coffee sized doses of caffiene. Cutting my consumption down to black tea really really changed things, proof positive: 2 cups of Rao's coffee last night sent me on a caffiene bender like I've never experienced before, worst night ever...well since Friday. On that (health) note, apparently everyone else got the memo but I found out the hard way that eating a sucker fish is a TERRIBLE idea. I will think of them as mercury saturated death fish from here on out. Enought of this nonsense, I've got shit to do and hopefully not too many miles before I sleep. Ciao to anyone that reads this silly thing...*insert powerballad here*
